A satirical documentary exploring life after top surgery. TOPS, a pastiche of the chaotic, brash, self-deprecating and clueless 1990s/2000s British reality TV, casts the artist and filmmaker Amy Pennington as an invasive presenter desperate to make their first-ever trans friend. Pennington visits four unique individuals, exploring the crucial question that defines trans masc experience, “What TOP did you wanna wear after TOP surgery?”. The documentary will make its world premiere at the BFI Flare which runs 13 to 24 March.
